Family Updates

Well it's been a LONG time since I posted... so here is a quick recap of what the Bragg's have been up to:

I am still working PT for Metro, with one 5 hour day in the office. It seems to be working out well, and I am feeling VERY lucky to have this time home with the kids. It is amazing to me that Olivia is almost 6 months, and I have been with her all this time, no daycare (yet) like we had originally planned. To compensate for some of the lost income, we transferred Drew from daycare to a preschool program. It has worked out really well, since it is at the same center he was already going to, so he was at least familiar with the surroundings, and I think he is gradually warming up to the new kids. He is definitely learning alot, which makes me happy. We have been busy working on writing his letters, he can now spell and write his first & last name, he mastered it very quickly! and now on everything he does, whether at school or home you will see "DREW" somewhere on it... so cute! Olivia is growing quickly, like I said she is almost 6 months, which is crazy to me, that she has been with us for almost a 1/2 a year. We are SUPER excited to announce that she has finally passed her hearing screen in both ears. As many of you know, she had never passed her right ear in her newborn hearing screen, or the other re-screens, we had been to St. Joes once, and UofM four times. The last few times she also was not passing her left ear, since she had the flu. Anyways super long story short, she has now finally passed, although her tympanogram is still showing what they believe is fluid in her ear. We will meet with the ENT next week to discuss what we do from here. While we knew she was hearing at least some all this time, it was scary with her not passing, and at times not responding to sounds. So we are not totally out of the woods, but as the audiologist said any problem is mild, and probably just fluid in the ears that may require tubes. People always ask me "Is she always this good and happy", I must say in general she is a very good baby and happy! She laughs harder then any baby I have ever seen - Drew can really get her rolling. Those two are hilarious and really feed off each other! They really adore each other, and for sure Olivia thinks her big brother is the coolest person on earth! Liv's favorite thing to do is jump in her jumperoo or stand in her exersaucer, I am really convinced that this kid will never crawl and will go straight to walking. She is not a huge fan of playing on the floor anymore, she wants to be standing like a big girl. Kevin has been doing well, knock on wood no kidney stones in the last month or two (probably just jinxed him). He finally got his snowmobile out of the shop and is looking forward to hopefully a few good rides this season... if we could just get some snow. So all in all things are going ok over here, definitely looking forward to summer, and hopefully a few mini family vacations. We are just getting started with the 2010 March For Babies fundraising. We are again leading team "Love Our Angels" for the second year. We need donations to help in the fight against prematurity, so if you are able please consider donating to our team.
