This weekend in Michigan we had a bit of a weather warm-up, yesterday we did not get outside too much to enjoy it since Drew was not feeling well "24 hour flu perhaps or something else", either way this morning he woke up feeling just fine. As promised I took Drew to Walmart today to buy some new art supplies, and then I surprised him with a trip to Hess Hathaway Park - the animal and play structure park. This was our first visit there for the year, and as in years past Drew wanted to begin his trip by visiting the animals first. After saying "hello" to all of his animal friends, we made it to some of the older toys, which Drew refers to as the "bigger kid toys", he was climbing all over them, and said he wanted to show Mimi Schultz, because it would crack her up! Then we walked around, and finally made it into the main play structure area. Drew immediately was climbing the tall things, and going down the HUGE slides, it was interesting to see the differences b/w this year and last. We of course then made it to the famous sandbox, I was pleased to see his sharing abilities were already an improvement over last year. Then Drew's godparents showed up, along with Marlee their daughter, Aunt Tracy & Drew hung out in the maze and on the teeter-tauter (not sure on spelling), it was pretty funny to watch them have fun. When it was time to leave Drew was a good listener, did not even throw a fit... yey! We came home unloaded the art things, organized and Drew took a nice long nap, I had to pry him out of bed for dinner. So exciting to think today was just the beginning of a fun-filled spring & summer!
